School Uniform Expectations

School uniform is compulsory for all year groups.

On designated PE days (as outlined in termly letters and on the year group web pages), children should come to school wearing their full PE kit and remain in it for the entire day. Footwear must be appropriate for physical activity, and children must be able to fasten their trainers independently. If your child cannot yet tie laces, please ensure they wear trainers with Velcro or alternative fastenings.

Nursery Uniform and PE

Nursery children wear their standard school uniform every day. Their PE kit should be brought to school in a clearly labelled small drawstring style PE bag and will remain at school for the duration of each half term.

School Winter uniform (September - Easter) The required school uniform (winter) consists of: Grey school trousers, dress or skirt White polo shirt Red sweatshirt/cardigan displaying the school logo Black school shoes (for outdoor use; no laces unless children can do them independently) & black plimsolls (for indoor use) Grey or white school socks Red or grey winter tights Grey, red or gingham hairbands may be worn.	School Summer uniform (Easter - July) The required school uniform (summer) consists of: Grey school trousers, shorts, dress or skirt White polo shirt Red gingham summer dress Red sweatshirt/cardigan displaying the school logo Red sun hat displaying the school logo Black school shoes (for outdoor use; no laces unless children can do these independently) & black plimsolls (for indoor use) Grey or white school socks No open toed sandals Grey, red or gingham hairbands may be worn.
PE Kit All children are required to have a PE kit consisting of: Trainers or plimsolls Black shorts Red Swing Gate School t-shirt. For Nursery (Voles Class) children only: Small drawstring style PE bag - our uniform supplier stocks Swing Gate PE bags but any small PE bag is acceptable. Black tracksuit for Winter (Optional)	Additional uniform items: Red Swing Gate School book bag (required) Water bottle (available to buy from school or a suitable substitute from home)
Please note additional uniform regulations: All school uniform and additional items should be clearly labelled with your child's name. Items of jewellery should not be worn in school as they can be easily lost and can be very dangerous during PE and break times. The only exception to this is stud earrings. These must be removed or taped up by the child before taking part in any PE lessons. Make up, nail varnish, tattoos and dyed hair are not permitted. Long hair should be tied up with a suitable band. Please save large hairbands and accessories for sponsored dress up days and special events.

Where can I buy the uniform from?

PL Schoolwear are our school uniform provider. You will need to register for an account on their website to view and purchase uniform directly. Deliveries can be made to your home address (chargeable) or to the school office (free delivery). You are also able to visit their shop in person to try sizing and collect uniform.

Water bottles are available from the school office.

Many clothing items can be purchased more widely, including second hand retailers.

In addition to this, we have a good stock of preloved, good quality nearly new uniform for sale/voluntary contribution. Please contact Sophie Barley on 07834 878654.

Lost property can be found in the classrooms and the cupboard outside the office.

Uniform name labelling
