We have been awarded our Bronze and Silver Eco Awards! We are working towards the Green Flag award .

Waste busters - our eco council have been very busy as role models. We have spent the last term working very hard to raise Eco awareness. These are some of the things we have been working on...

• We took part in Switch off Fortnight. When we took daily meter readings we discovered we had used less energy. We are working hard to keep it up. We are really good at reminding the teachers (and our parents
• We write Blogs on The Pod - www.jointhepod.org (EDF energy) and take part in lots of the activities
• We have new recycling bins - we recycle lots of things - paper, phones. Food waste, plastic etc
• Our compost bins are nearly full - and the compost is used on our class vegetable patches.
• We belong to BBC Breathing Places and recently planted another tree as part of a national campaign
• Our wildlife area is attracting birds , bugs and other wildlife
• We are working with other local school on joint projects and sometimes participate in activities together -e.g. The Big Tidy Up!! (Keep Britain Tidy campaign )
• We are working with Thomas Coram Middle school and the Highways Commission on Safer Routes to school.

We really love our community and environment! We are exploring all these areas in our Creative Curriculum where we apply our skills to real life situations!!

We had great fun using all the data from our meter readings in our maths lessons, and Nursery made some super fat balls for the birds.
