School & Eco Council 

Our School & Eco Council is a body made up up two representatives from each of our 7 classes. Their aim is to represent the views of all pupils and to improve our school environment.

How it works

Every year a new group of School Councillors are elected following children nominating and talking about why they would like to be a councillor. All children then take part in a democratic process in which they vote to elect councillors from their class. Once elected, their role is to help to make sure that Swing Gate School is ECO-FRIENDLY and SAFE. 

The councillors meet once a term to discuss any issues their classes may have raised and also considering ways to improve our school environment.
